About

Hi, I am Maruf Khan, a full-time professional engineer currently working at Hitachi ABB Power Grids. Previously I worked in ABB Ltd in Bangladesh, where I was a technical lead on protection and automation products.

In the beginning, I was responsible for the distribution switchgear and protection system, especially distribution level protection relays. At that time, I worked closely with ABB Finland in adapting feeder protection relays to meet the local market specification.

I have taken part in a certification training on “Power Systems and Substation Automation and Protection” at ABB University, Switzerland. I also worked in the factory testing of control relay panels. Consequently, I visited ABB in Sweden to participate in another training on Network Manager SCADA. I am assigned as a local technical lead for both the protection system and the ABB Network Manager SCADA.

After working as a professional engineer for quite some time, now I am looking forward to joining academia as a researcher. I want to bring my professional experience in academic research.

My research interests are Power System Dynamics, State Estimation, Smart Grid, Renewable Energy and their integration challenges, Energy Storage System, Implementation of Machine Learning in Power System, Cyber Security in Smart Grid, Application of Power Electronics to Power System, FACTS, HVDC, Micro Grid.

I like running, swimming, playing football and watching floating clouds.
